Orpheus proudly joins forces with members of the Sphinx Virtuosi, a self-conducted ensemble of top Black and Latinx soloists, to present a historic program that straddles centuries and hemispheres. These like-minded chamber orchestras welcome silver medalist and “audience favorite” from the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition, Santiago Cañón-Valencia, who performs Haydn’s First Cello Concerto and Rhapsody of the Four Elements, a raw and elemental showpiece for cello and strings by his Colombian compatriot Jorge Pinzón.

SAINT-GEORGES: Symphony in D major Op. 11, No. 2
