Duration: 70 minutes

BIBER: Battalia
HANDEL: The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, from Solomon
MARCELLO: Concerto for Trumpet in C minor
CIMAROSA: Concerto for oboe and strings in C minor (Ed. Benjamin)
VIVALDI: Concerto for violin, 2 oboes, 2 horns & bassoon, strings & continuo in F major, RV 569

HAYDN: Symphony No. 64 in A major (“Tempora Mutantur”), H. 1/64

Tine Thing Helseth’s trumpet is a conduit for pure musical expression, whether she is reinterpreting Baroque and Classical themes or riffing on tunes from her native Norway. She represents a new form of virtuoso superstar, and Orpheus celebrates her return with a fresh summer playlist. Hotshot soloists battle, rejoice and frolic in works from Biber, Handel and Vivaldi, while Haydn reminds us, with both the contents and nickname of his dynamic symphony, that “times change.”
