Orpheus Reflections is a program designed to bring the healing power of music to people living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia and their caregivers. Music can bring emotional and physical closeness, help to ease stress, and encourage positive interactions.
These 45-minute programs bring small groups of Orpheus musicians to perform in spaces where attendees are comfortable, such as public venues or private care centers. Sessions close with a meet and greet with the musicians.
“Having Orpheus Reflections come to our program was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To quote a few family members, “For the musicians to come to us brought us something that we thought we would never experience again.” “It inspired us and gave us hope.” The performance was amazing, beautiful, and breathtaking. It was so much fun to socialize with the musicians afterwards.”
– Gwynne Chovanec, Director, Older Adult Services & Senior Advocate, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital
